For WaarBenJij.Nu, the largest travel community in the Netherlands, Fortress Digital Agency developed a Facebook app that enables fans to win down under. In just one week, the number of fans increased from a small 500 to over 8800.
The app, a partnership between WaarBenJij.Nu, Australia.com and KILROY, invites users to answer three multiple choice questions and share the contest with friends. After participation, fans can win a trip to Australia, an iPad2 or one of 15 guides Australia. The tab offers lots of possibilities to attract a large fanbase.
hTe success of the largest online travel community in the Netherlands was well reflected in the high activity at the Facebook page. The contest was communicated via Facebook, Twitter and the WaarBenJij.Nu community. A dedicated mail-out to 200,000 members resulted in a massive growth of the number of Facebook fans. Entries are save in the WaarBenJij.Nu database and can be used for future campaigns.
