The movie New Moon (Independent Films) is the second part of the immensely popular Twilight Saga movie series. For its release we developed a widget with several functionalities. This resulted in a very successful campaign; in a month's time the widget had already been viewed over half a million times.
New Moon is a movie which created a great deal of buzz. To go along with this existing buzz, we created a the widget which, amongst others, contained the latest news about the movie and a link to the official YouTube channel. The widget was meant to keep fans of the Twilight Saga informed about the latest surrounding the movie, as well as integrating a contest in it. By placing the widget on your personal Hyves profile, people were able to win fantastic New Moon prizes!
By using Social PR -reaching the right people to create a viral effect- the campaign managed to create a number of views far above average. 1.600 people placed the widget on their profile, whilst the widget was viewed a number of 500.000 times within one month, making this a highly successful campaign.
